The Musée de la Mer of the Iles de la Madeleine traces the history of the islands from their occupation by the Micmacs to when Jacques Cartier first dicovered them in 1534 to their colonization by the Acadians from Brittany and Normandy during the 1600s. Permanent exhibits include examples of various maritime transportation, shipwrecks and communications.

The Entry Island Heritage Committee urged residents to donate their historic items to the Musee Historique de L'Ile d'Entree, which opened in 2000. L'Ile d'Entree is the only island of the archipelago that is not attached to the others by sand dunes, and is home to one of Quebec's oldest English-speaking settlements. Reservations are required.
