Located in one of the Iles de la Madeleine's many heritage buildings, the Verrerie La Méduse both produces and sells hand-blown works of art in glass. A wide range of singular pieces are available, including colourful dishes, whimsical figurines, decorative window hangings and realistic fruits and vegetables. Throughout the year the gallery employs two full-time glass blowers, and welcomes up-and-coming students and artisans in the summer. Address: 638 Route 199 Havre-aux-Maisons QC Canada G4T 5A8

Artisans du Sable Visitors to the Iles de la Madeleine have the opportunity to take home original works of art made exclusively on the islands. For more than 20 years talented artists have been using the Iles de la Madeleine's most plentiful resource to create original, long-lasting and beautiful sculptures. Sand is hardened using a secret process to create an attractive and durable material from which lamps, vases, hourglasses, murals and much more are formed, and are the perfect momento from an island vacation.
